PVC Roofs for Digesters

PVC Roofs for Digesters

Flexible membrane covers (typically reinforced PVC or EPDM) designed to contain biogas generated in anaerobic processes.

They function as low-pressure roofs, allowing controlled deformation and acting as gas accumulators. They incorporate safety valves, watertight perimeter anchors, and UV protection systems.

Advantages

  • They allow temporary gas storage
  • Adaptable to volume variations
  • Much lighter than a rigid pressurized tire
  • Lower cost than a rigid pressurized dome

Typical Applications

  • Anaerobic digesters
  • Biogas plants
  • Treatment of sludge and organic waste

Limitations

  • Shorter lifespan than steel or aluminum
  • Sensitive to UV, extreme temperatures, and mechanical damage
  • They require periodic inspections
